David Ail, President and CEO
David has 27 years of senior leadership experience as President of Intercare (1992-present), CEO of Inglewood Private Hospital, Lodge and Manor Partnership until its sale in 2001, CEO of Morton Holdings Ltd. (1989-present), Managing General Partner of Mountainside Lodge Ltd.(2002-2004) and Vice-President of Human Resources for Fred Meyer Savings and Loan (1975-1979). Born in Portland, Oregon, David graduated from Portland State University in 1973 and relocated to Vancouver Island in 1979 prior to moving to Vancouver in 1984. Major construction projects completed under David’s direction include the 1994-96 expansion/ redevelopment of Inglewood and more recently expansions and renovations to Southwood (2), Brentwood and Chinook Care Centers.
Oriel Morrison, Vice President, Clinical Services & Community Development
Oriel has a Masters in Health Services Administration and brings over 30 years of experience in service to others. Her experience range from Critical Care nursing in the Acute Care system to that of a leadership role in the care of seniors. The position of Vice President of Clinical Services and Community Development is accountable for all clinical aspects of care and service including research, development and education. The role as it relates to the community involves liaisons through community development projects, consultations and participation at all levels: from the Calgary Health Region, our schools, associations, churches and seniors groups. It is through this process that Oriel promotes and strives for “Best Practice”standards within a Partnership Community Model.
Ian Woodcock, Vice President, Administration and Corporate Services
As Vice President, Administration and Corporate Services, Ian is responsible for a portfolio that includes all non-clinical aspects of Intercare’s operations. This includes human resources and labour relations, collective bargaining, occupational health and safety, vendor contract negotiations and management, materials management, maintenance and physical plants, information systems, telecommunications, risk and liability management, business development and administrative support for all centralized corporate functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing. Ian brings to his position nearly 20 years of healthcare management and consulting experience in the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. Ian holds a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration and is a member of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives.
Dr. Paddy Quail, Medical Advisor
Medical Adviser and Site Leader Medical is a family physician who graduated from Trinity College Dublin and worked in the UK from 1982 until emigrating to Canada in 1987. One of his first positions was a houseman at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge on the Geriatrics unit (1983) and later asa vocational trainee in General Practice in an inner city practice in London (1987) . He supports all efforts to promote the most compassionate care of older and disabled patients and has a keen interest in facility based care. He is also Medical Director for Home Care with the Calgary Health Region where he chairs the newly created Ethics committee and is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Dept. of Family Medicine University of Calgary. he also chairs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee for Supported Living and the regional Influenza planning committee.
